Full mouth rehabilitation refers to rehabilitation/reconstruction of the whole mouth. It involves procedures like root canals, fillings, crowns, bridges, dental implants etc to repair the teeth and restore them to function.At times the existing bite of the patient might also need to be changed. Full mouth rehabilitation is also indicated in cases of severe attrition where there has been substantial loss of tooth enamel making the teeth sensitive and causing the patient inability to chew.

The procedure usually starts with careful clinical examination and a thorough discussion with the patient about the treatment. In steps the existing teeth are first treated and dental implants if needed are placed. If a bite raise is indicated, plastic temporary crowns are given to help the patient get accustomed to the new bite. Once the patient gets used to the new bite, final crowns are fabricated.
