With the change in our dietary
habits, the trend in dental problems is changing too. A lot of patients now
present with multiple teeth problems. The answer to their problem is full mouth
reconstructive therapy commonly called as full mouth rehabilitation or full
mouth reconstruction.
The term “full mouth
rehabilitation”is a very broad term. It encompasses a wide variety of
procedures such as dental fillings, root canal treatment, post and core, crowns
and bridges, dental implants and so on. In certain cases based on individual
needs cosmetic dental procedures such as veneers and laminates might also be
advised....
However restoration of full mouth is
neither an easy job nor a quick own. Since changes in bite are expected, the
process is complex. It requires meticulous planning and attention to every
detail. In some cases, we prefer to give the patient a temporary prosthesis to
study the patient’s response to the new crowns. Once the patient settles with
the temporary ones, permanent crowns are then made with the same
specifications.
With a full mouth rehabilitation, a
patient not only gets a new set of teeth, he/she gets a new smile and
appearance too. It is getting back the confidence the patient has been wanting
for years. Most patients are happy that they can chew well, smile confidently
and the end to their suffering from pain too.
