How to Get Laser Gum Bleaching in India?

A large percentage of the population contains dark brown pigment in the gum tissue. This color is due to the presence of melanin- a pigment which is also responsible for giving skin its color and these special cells are called melanocytes

In the gums, the pigment is locally synthesized by some special cells present deep in the gum tissue. These melanocytes then migrate from deeper to superficial layers thereby imparting the dark color to gums.

With the dental laser, it is now possible to remove this pigment thereby restoring the coral pink color of the gums.

Laser Gum Bleaching in India
Removing melanin gum pigmentation is a relatively simple procedure. Under local anesthesia, the superficial layer of gum tissue containing dark pigment is subjected to a laser beam in a defocused mode. The laser beam completely wipes off the melanocytes. The area is then covered with a special gum dressing for about a week. When the dressing is removed the dark pigment is completely replaced by normal gum tissue.

Initially, this procedure was carried out by a blade but with the advent of the laser, the procedure has become simplified with no bleeding and almost nil post-operative pain. Also, the results are quick and can be immediately seen 1 week post-operative.

We at Dr. Garg’s Multispeciality Dental Centre, New Delhi routinely perform laser gum depigmentation. With a lot of emphasis on Cosmetic Dentistry today, a lot of patients have become “conscious” of the dark-colored gums and want to get rid of them.
